We want to be able to very easily look up a person, or to conduct a search, say, for people at HQ who work on a particular project(s). The fields (given below) which would be the most useful as parameters in a search have been identified with *. o Program should be very easy to use, with some help functions and an (updateable) message at the top or bottom of screen telling users how to mail a msg to a database master if they know of more current information. o Help function should be heavily salted with examples to demonstrate nuances of usage that might seem too obvious to point out. o One or several users should be set up as editor/users, who can easily change information while using the program. o Capability for access to database from any user of the VAX, but no editing capability for most users. Fields needed: * Name: Title: * Institution: * Research groups: -need variable # of fields for this;up to 15 or 20. Mailing address: * City: * State: * Country: Telephone: FTS phone: FAX phone: Telemail/GSFC mail: SPAN node: BITNET nickname: BITNET node: BITNET userid: Computer network: Preferred e-mail: Last update: (should be automatic by program) * these fields should have easy access for a search. Any help with this would be appreciated. Please send replies to me directly: tvc%utcsr.decnet@chpc.brc.utexas.edu.
