A couple of people indicated that they had had trouble getting network
numbers for networks that are not attached to the Internet.  I just
checked with the NIC.  Sue@sri-nic.arpa verified that they will give
out a network number to anyone who needs it.  Sponsorship is needed
only if you say that your network is to be connected to the
DDN-internet.  If you have had trouble in the past getting a number,
you might want to try again.  The NIC's mail address is
hostmaster@sri-nic.arpa.  Their phone number is 415-859-5539.
