For those of you who sent me pointers: thanks, I appreciate it. For those who wanted to know what I found out, here are some of the leads: 1. SCIENCE.UTAH.EDU has Make available in APS: through anonymous FTP. (This was one of the first messages I received, so I downloaded a copy from here) 2. HARVARD.HARVARD.EDU has: (a). a Unix-like Make available in ~ftp/vms/makevms, and (b). another Make specially for VMS in ~ftp/vms/make 3. Some pointed to Module Management System (MMS) from DEC. It is supposed to be similar to Make on Unix. (There is also a facility called C(ode)MS similar to SCCS or RCS available from DEC). 4. Others had their own special versions in VAX Fortran, etc. Razi ---------------- internet: rmohiudd@teknowledge-vaxc.arpa usenet: {hplabs|sun|ucbvax|decwrl|sri-unix}!rmohiudd%teknowledge-vaxc.arpa voice: 415/424-0500 USnail: Teknowledge, Inc., 1850 Embarcadero Rd., POB 10119, Palo Alto, CA 94303
