You should use a superbitmap window. That will give you up to 1024x1024, very
close to what you want.  Then you need the source for the Workbench Lines
Demo, which provides vertical and horizontal scroll gadgets.  That's what
we used to the ZOOM mode in A-TALK PLUS.  I don't remember exactly where I
got the sources for the Lines Demo, but the code says that it is from 
amiga!bart.  He is on the net.  When coupling SUPERBITMAPs and scroll bars,
remember to Synch the map before saving in IFF.
