Er, one of the only things worth it in the Metacomco toolkit is the aux: 
device. (And there's a freeware one of them now.) Why not use that to allow
one Amiga to serve as a terminal on the other for debugging purposes? At least
for starters that beats trying to hack at the CIA chips. (Hope you do not
have a MAS-20...)

Er you like the fuzzies of the composite input? There is only one honest to
