I have a problem and I need some help.

I have a good old Apple IIe, a super serial card, an Avatex 1200 baud modem
and an RS232 cable.  I put the four together and they won't work.  I called
the company and they were idiots.  I tried asking Apple dealers but they
won't want anything to do with my problem.  The serial card works fine, the
computer works fine, and the modem seems fine.  It must be some communication
problem (am I using the wrong cable???).

Please help if you can.
