I bought the "No Slot Clock" made by SMT. The SMT ad states that this device works in Apple II, II+, IIe, Franklin, and Laser computers. Once you get the device, THEN you find out that it only fits on the motherboard of the IIe and IIc. You must have a "host" card for this work on the Apple II, II+, or the Franklin 1000 series. And, of course, ALL of SMT's expansion boards work in this fashion. The place I bought it from, as well as the SMT salesman both claimed that they never had heard this. It wasn't until we got through to SMT Tech Support that someone started to make sense. As it turned out, only my new RamFactor card could serve as a host for this little chip/socket thingy. None of my other cards (Apple SSC, Franklin dual-port, video, Z80, and disk controller) would work. Sure would be nice if they told you about that before you got your hopes up. I lucked out in this case. Will you? #include Patrick Wolfe Internet: pat@kai.com System Manager UUCP: ...!{seismo,ihnp4,uiucuxc}!kai.com!pat Kuck & Associates, Inc.
