Upton, N.Y. Lines: 27 For those who haven't seen it, the latest COMPUTE! has an interview with Leonard Tramiel who was asked "Is that [IBM] emulator ever going to come out? Is it important?" His answer was "I don't think it's that important. ... The cost of a hardware emulator is not going to be a heck of a lot less than a clone. ... I think something what's more important is something which is one of our corporate best-kept secrets. If you take a 3-1/2 inch disk from an IBM PC Convertible, you can read it on an ST." <> Great - Next, we will find out that GDOS is not that important, the 40 folder bug is not that important, documentation is not that important, the blitter is not that important and (of course) the IBM emulator is not that important -- BUT look at the good news! At least we can all read 3-1/2 inch diskettes from the IBM &^*@! converible. I don't think I will spend a nickle more on anything that makes those people richer. They make apple look like a benevolent company. In fact, I think I'll start looking for one of those new macs .... <> At least it wasn't the Brooklyn Bridge. < dave
