In Germany there are two companies selling a TeX implementation:

    1) TOOLS GmbH

    We are running the second of these here at our institute.
    Some minor annoyances: no statistics (\tracingstats is useless),
    and TeX complains too early about "TeX capacity exceeded" when
    processing many cross references or a number of large floats
    (shows up in LaTeX documents with >50 pages).
    It also requires LaTeX .STY Files to be in a certain directory
    (namely in \TEX of the current drive) --- no search paths. But
    you can get around it by specifying a full path ("\" replaced
    by "/" so that TeX will not choke).
    Costs are about DM 400 for TeX, LaTeX, BibTeX and a fairly good
    screen preview program.
    They are also selling printer drivers for Epson FX/LQ, NEC P5/6/7,
    Star NL10, HP Laserjet+, Kyocera Laserprinter and Fujitsu DPL-24.
