Jim Turner Jim Turner replies: >Use an Amiga... and copy IBM boot disk... > After I posted the message on Info-Atari, I tried PC-Ditto again. But this time when it asked me to insert the DOS disk, I kept hitting the return key when it gave me the boot error. Finally, it booted. The first thing I did was format a couple more disks with a system on them, copied the applicable files over, and then created a config.sys with the proper driver.sys call in it. It would not even boot from those disks either. The only disk it will boot from is the one formatted on the IBM compatible and then only once in a while. I'm wondering if I may have a disk drive problem -- but then again, I have no problem at all reading regular ST disks. And when I run a seek test program on the drive, it checks out fine. One thing not mentioned in the reply -- Can anyone else read/copy/manipulated files on an IBM formatted disk from GEMDOS? I can not! Also, (Jim) if anyone has the schematic for connecting a regular IBM style 5 1/4 disk to the ST, PLEASE! post it. Again, thanks for the help! Dennis Scott (803)238-6037
