Is it worth having? I've been passed some preliminary documentation on an AT&T product called TUNEX, a ``UNIX OS Performance Tuning Tool.'' It uses data from sar, sadp, acctcom and mount in order to come up with the following advice to a system administrator: -- effect on performance of choice of disk cache size -- when a dcopy is advisable to optimise accesses to particular filesystems -- how best to allocate different filesystems to disk drives -- suggested sizes for various system tables -- places where setting the sticky bit would be a good idea. As AT&T UNIX Europe does not yet have full product information, I wondered if anybody out there could help me with these questions: 1. Is it out in the field? 2. Is it worth having (we have a 3B2/400)? 3. Is it specific to 3B series systems (or alternatively, is it available in source form, for example through the Toolkit set-up)? Thanks.
