What we have is multiple MS-DOS systems connected by a lan to a MS-DOS database server. Why did we do it this way? Our customer was already familiar with MS-DOS. The distributed architecture is robust in the face of a system failure. (The database is kept on one of the client workstations, which can take over the server role when necessary.) Yes, it could have been done under UNIX, with everybody sharing the same system, but at a higher price-per-user, for the same performance. -- Dave Levenson Westmark, Inc. A node for news.
