Summary: Need help using /T1

I think this question has been discussed before, but I missed out on it.

I am writing a special application (a kind of terminal program) requiring the
use of /T1 in Basic09.  I am trying to GET and PUT through /T1.  The baud
rate, parity, and stop bits are set right, but I just get garbage on the screen,
as if it were communicating almost right, but not quite.  I've tried everything,
and I'm about to go nuts.  Any info would be sincerely appreciated.
