The startup setup in terms of files/folders is actually much more flexible than your description states. It is also possible to have suitcase manage FKeys and "snd "'s. Your use of the term "auto-loaded" may mislead some to think that fonts are read into memory at boot time -- this is not the case. The suitcase disk also includes the state-of-the-art blanker, Pyro!. The sole shortcoming of Suitcase I am aware of (and it's documented) is that you can't split a font family across suitcase files -- in particular Geneva must have all its sizes in the System file.
