Of the ones I know about, only Levco's Prodigy (Prime?), I also have one of the early Macs. I can only get my power supply up to ~4.8V (with 1Meg, homebrew) before it folds back. I COULD go to my dealer for a power supply repair (read: swap) and hope for a stiffer one, but I won't until it would really be worth the ~$100. I would really like to add an external 5V supply to my Mac (yes, I know it's an UGLY thought). However, I don't know if any power supply sequencing rules apply. But perhaps there aren't any to speak of (with the power supply oscillating wildly at ~2Hz between supplying current and foldback, no Mac I am aware of has incurred any damage).
