Products at the University of Chicago Microcomputer Distribution Center are
available to "full-time faculty, students, and staff."  A LaserWriter (with
toner cartridge) would cost me $3240, a LW Plus (also w/cartridge) $3785.

Perhaps the demand outstripped their inventory capacity, though I doubt it.
Insurance problems?  Who knows?
