Actually, the Mac II beep on bootup is part of a self-test which the Mac II
does on power-ups.  Supposely, you can tell what's wrong with the machine by
the beep sound it make - the beep sound code was written to assume that even
main memory might not be there!  Does anyone know the mapping between boot
sounds and hardware errors?
