I recently graduated from an AUC school (Carnegie-Mellon U.), and purchased
a Mac II from there (ordered May 9, arrived Sept. 4!).  I was one of the
original Mac purchasers there (May '84).  The rule quoted to me was that
a student could purchase a II or an SE if they had not yet bought a Mac,
or if it had been purchased before May(?) 1985.

C-MU computer store & Apple people, please comment/correct this info.

P.S. C-MU is selling II/40meg for $3133.  Other prices also lower than
     Cornell.
