Some time back, someone asked how to do a permuted index.  I
read the news while on vacation, and promised to post a
response upon my return.  However, the description turns out
to be a little long for a posting unless there's sufficient
interest.  So instead, I'm offering to mail a copy of the
information to anyone who asks for it.  Please e-mail me if
you are interested.  If there's sufficient interest, I'll
post the information; otherwise I'll mail it back.

I also decided to use ptx as the topic of my column in
/usr/group Communixations, so the information will also be appearing
there in print next month.
