It is no wonder that you are having problems. CCA has nothing whatsoever to do with the MINIX C Compiler. The MINIX C compiler is generated by the Amsterdam Compiler Kit. It belongs to AST and his Amsterdam friends. Unipress Software has the distribution rights for ACK (which is very, very expensive) and the MINIX C Compiler. They made a special $99 deal for people who wanted the compiler. They don't sell many, they aren't making any money on it. The president of Unipress spent an entire day recompiling the compiler under MINIX to prove that it was doable before it was shipped. Even on a nice hard disk MINIX system it takes FOREVER to compile anything. I suggest that even though MINIX C compiler sources can be had, that you forget them. First, the performance of the compiler is awful. Second, the source code itself is awful since it is machine generated by the Compiler Kit. I'd start over or try porting GNU CC. (If anyone wants to bitch at Unipress directly, the phone number is (201) 985-8000). -Ron
