Thanks to Karl Denninger, Andrew Ginter, Michael Grenier, Burt Janz, Jay Maynard, Len Mills, and Brad Transue for responding. > 1. Where would you buy it? Five of the seven respondents heartily recommend the Programmer's Connection, 136 Sunnyside St., Hartville, OH 44632, tel. 800-336-1166. Karl Denninger recommends his own company, Macro Computer Solutions, tel. (voice) 312-566-8910, (modem) 312-566-8909. > 2. What minimum hardware would you recommend for a mostly single-user system? The consensus is that at least 2-2.5 Mbyte of RAM and 30-40 Mbyte of disk is required for good operation. More is better. Karl Denninger suggests that the disk should be voice-coil, not stepper-motor actuated. > 3. Does DOSMerge work well? No. The current beta version is buggy. The released version, supposedly available in a couple of weeks, may be better. One should probably wait for the released version of DOSMerge, along with version 2.3 of SysV/AT. -- Jim Olsen olsen@xn.ll.mit.edu ...!{mit-eddie,seismo,linus,lll-crg}!ll-xn!olsen
