Message-ID: <99@cunixc.columbia.edu> Date: Tue, 8-Sep-87 17:32:54 EDT Article-I.D.: cunixc.99 Posted: Tue Sep 8 17:32:54 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 11-Sep-87 05:54:42 EDT Reply-To: alan@cunixc.columbia.edu (Alan Crosswell) Organization: Columbia University Center for Computing Activities Lines: 25 I just installed ACIS 4.3 on my machine and am having some problems with XV10R4 (NOTE: This is not the X that comes with the 4.3 tape and that ACIS provides mods for with their distribution). Specifically: - compilation with the Metaware High C compiler doesn't work. 1. libibm/libsrc/bitblt_subr.c is apparently too complex for HC. 2. when mixing HC and PCC-compiled object (e.g. to get around problem #1), the X display server (apa16) draws skewed lines rather than a proper rubber-band box rectangle when I try to run xterm. - Xapa16 dumps core when built completely with PCC. This same release of X used to work under ACIS 4.2. It "greys" the display and puts up a proper X cursor but then croaks shortly after starting xterm. A single horizontal line appears where the rubber-band box should be and then any mouse motion blows it away. - Ed Moy's 6.6B xterm doesn't cause anything at all to display. I never had this one working (was using 6.6A) under ACIS 4.2, so.... Any suggestions or diffs would be greatly appreciated.
