Advanced Computer --- Requirements: --- Papers should describe new research and development work (as opposed to existing applications of techniques or hardware which have been implemented in Postal Systems). --- Papers presenting research and development work sponsored by postal administrations (other than the United States), may take the form of research and development program overviews, but should present sufficient new work to be of interest to an international audience of senior research and development specialists and managers. --- Submission of Papers: --- An abstract of 300 words or less on each proposed paper must be submitted for review NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 1, 1987. The abstracts should include sufficient description of the proposed paper to enable the review committee to decide on the merits of accepting the paper for presentation at the conference. --- Submit five copies of the abstract, each with a cover page that includes the following information: 1) title, 2) one or more of the listed topics that your paper relates to, 3) author(s) names(2), 4) primary authors' business address and telephone/telefax/telex numbers and mail to: --- Office of Advanced Technology ATTN: Conference Coordinator U.S. Postal Service 475 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W. Washington, D.C. 20260-8118 --- All further correspondence from us relating to conference papers will be address to the primary author or the first-listed author of each paper. --- Both the abstract and accepted papers must be in English, single- spaced, in 12-pitch type on plain 8-1/2" x 11" white bond paper, and include a cover page as described above. The length of the final paper should not exceed 15 pages, including illustrations and tables. Additional instructions on how to prepare final papers and presentations will be provides to those authors whose abstracts are accepted. --- Review of Papers: --- In order to maintain the quality of the conference, a program committee comprised of experts in the various technologies will be responsible for finalizing the program, reviewing abstracts and selecting papers for presentation and publication.
