There was an item on "Weekend Edition" last Sunday about a "Baltimore
study on aging".  They have been following a number of people for many
years, looking at what happens to them as they get older.  One of the
doctors said that if he had all the information about a person that
the "study" has (excluding their actual age, I assume), he would not
be able to do as well at guessing their age as the guy at the
carnival.

So, it's a hard problem...
