A few years ago, during one of my periodic attempts to keep up with the news, I came across the tail end of the controversy over Mr. Maroney's departure from the net. I found it a little confusing. At the same time, if I remember correctly, I noticed that it seemed like no matter what group I read, there was some guy named Rosen filling it up with a lot of crap. I remember asking a friend, who followed the net more, who Maroney & Rosen were. His answer was "Just a couple of jerks on the net". Recently I started reading a few newsgroups again. Just about the time the Brahms Gang - Maroney Affair flared up I guess. When I started reading I noticed that the Great Names from the Past seemed gone. Where was Rosen? Where was Ken Arndt? Where was that great lover of Judaism, Don Black? Could there be a higher level of discourse in this modern era? Then I noticed references to the Brahms Gang. Aha! I thought, a new generation has arisen to fill the vacuum. But better was yet to come. I found an article by Tim Maroney in alt.drugs. I figured he had to be the original, back like a Phoenix from the ashes. Maroney I knew, but the Brahms Gang was a little fuzzy. So I asked another friend, who'd been keeping up while I was away, who or what was the Brahms Gang. "Just a couple of jerks on the net" she replied. Some things never change I guess. But what's the story on Foothead? And how does that relate to Rosen? (I knew he had to be in this somewhere :-) ). And whatever happened to Ken Arndt? Greg Pickle ..!ihnp4!inuxc!pickle "Dry hair is for squids." A memorable line from an unmemorable movie.
