A good part of it was getting the well-known net-personality Michael Ellis set up to post from Brahms, and then defending him with some vigor when Stephen Harnad got us *all* (including many non-flamers and even non-posters) in trouble by writing in to complain about this "obviously disturbed" individual (i.e. Michael, not Matthew) being allowed net access. Some of it was over a misunderstanding he had about who was allowing certain self-proclaimed "Weemba Lovers" to alter his articles by screwing them up at other sites, which led him to commit the no-no of posting mail to the net. This incident made me very aware of how certain people feel about this, and of course also led the usual gang of cretins to complain about how awful and disgusting it was that I was following nettiquite in this matter. You seem to think that a gaggle of pinheads of your whiny ilk constantly write and complain, and this led to the problem. Nicht wahr. >Is there anyplace lower than alt.flame that would be more worthy of the >continuing saga of poor persecuted Matthew? Your IQ and your moral standards would be two good places to start looking. >I'm sure the denizens of >alt.flame find this beneath even the minimal standards of a flame oriented >newsgroup. And certainly too boring to be the subject of worthwhile flaming. If by this you mean your flames lack flair, this is so. You can always stop. ucbvax!garnet!gsmith Gene Ward Smith/Brahmsgangster/Berkeley CA 94720 ucbvax!bosco!gsmith "DUMB problem!! DUMB!!!" -- Robert L. Forward
