A small addition to the previous note:

It was just brought to my attention that the emacs X driver routines
which were included with the Sep 15 X11 distribution were ones that had
some major problems (and some old debugging code).  I apologize for
any inconvenience this may have caused.  Please contact me personally
if you want to use the new routines.
