I wrote some code to do this for Turbo C a while ago.  It replaces
some of the standard startup code, so is invisible to the program, just
like Microsoft's.

A while back I mentioned an earlier version and mailed to about a dozen
people.  I've made some minor improvements and would be glad to distribute
it again.
