OCE (a dutch company dealing in office automation, document management) has shown us a 508 x 508 dpi laser printer, the OCE 6750. It is an implementation of the Office Document Architecture (ODA). The machine can be used with TeX (DVI) from VMS, Interleave from a SUN, and it accepts the "listing" file format from /370 computers. Can anyone remark on the ODA protocol, are there any conversion tools for "other" protocols to ODA, is there micro computer (PC, PS/2) software that will generate ODA files? TeX output looks wonderful on 508 dpi, estimated cost (or so they say): engine proper approx. $50,000 price per page (all in at 50,000 pages per month) $ 0.04 PS. I'm asking for information, I'm not pushing this machine!
