It did not look like an overflow situation to me. Being used to a 60 bit cyber, I guess I am kind of spoiled. I don't know how others feel, but I believe this to be a real problem. Sure, double precision will solve it, but sometimes you just don't know ahead of time if you'll need it. I guess my prayers to the VMS gods paid off. I wonder if this means the CYBER gods will x-communicate me? :-)
