Lines: 18 Keywords: ISAM RSX VMS DECNET I have been stymied by a problem I have found in trying to use DECNET to back up files from an RSX-11 system. I suspect this problem also exists when trying to do the same thing from other VMS systems. It appears that DECNET won't copy ISAM files. I get a message, something to the effect of: "Invalid record" and the file isn't copied. Under RSX I've tried to create container files using the BRU utility, but this doesn't work (or I don't understand how to make it work). The idea, here, would be to mask the ISAM data structure in the container file to make the file look like a binary file, but BRU won't do this. I don't know of any way of copying ISAM files over the net. Anyone care to comment? -- Robert N.
