Thus echoing and deleting of characters is performed on the local end and sent only when one of the characters listed as a terminator is hit. DEC also sends a length field which will terminate the QIO and send the data when X number of characters have been sent. With the above method both "line at a time" and single character transfers can be requested. - Carl
