What someone may have said in the distant past was that he/she didn't have the sources. I think the gathered net folks have pretty much summarized the reasons for and against distributing the source. Control issues, lawyer issues, money issues, possible port to other machine issues, etc. Maybe we should have an AT&T 'big bucks for a source license' type program. That way we could afford the AT&T number of lawyers to defend it. ("Let me get this straight...its *both* copyright *and* trade secret ???)
