Message-ID: <530@uop.UUCP> Date: Mon, 14-Sep-87 06:29:16 EDT Article-I.D.: uop.530 Posted: Mon Sep 14 06:29:16 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 25-Sep-87 06:11:39 EDT Organization: Somewhere perpendicular to reality... Lines: 12 Keywords: ST, virtual memory, multi-tasking With the DMA bus at something like 5 m-bits a second, and that being the fastest I/O port the ST has, is virtual memory on the ST's a realistic thought? Of course, I am considering a different operating system (MINIX??? && X-Windows!!!), but the hardware will remain the same. I naturally assumed different hard drives, since the drives in the Atari Hard drives probably do not have the best seek times... Any thoughts, comments??
