Ergo, I don't think one needs to have access to a UN*X (why does everybody put a '*' in UNIX??) to unARChive these SHell files. I also checked and SHAR is available from LISTSERV@CANADA01.BITNET as: PROG-A16 87-00114 SHAR source PROG-A16 87-00120 SHAR.PRG (1 of 2) PROG-A16 87-00121 SHAR.PRG (2 of 2) i have not used it yet (i usually just unSHAR it on the Sun), but if i have any problems i will warn the net. ++ PROG-A16 87-00024 PRINTG.TTP from LISTSERVE@CANADA01.BINET gives a 'short file' message when it us decoded (on a Sun) using uudecode. ++ ICON.ARC from RADC-SOFTVAX which got it from LISTSERV@CANADA01.BITNET causes a core dump (again, on a Sun) when i try to test the ARChive integrity using ARC 5.20. (i'm going to try to go straight to LISTSERV. i hope that works. if not, i will let somebody know.) ciao- -chip ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chip Roberson ARPANET: csrobe@icase.arpa 1105 London Company Way BITNET: $csrobe@wmmvs.bitnet Williamsburg, VA 23185 UUCP: ...!uunet!pyrdc!gmu90x!wmcs!csrobe ------------------------------------------------------------------------- *(*please note change in UUCP address ^^^^^^^^^^^ seismo is gone*)*
