Well, I have received responses to my offer of posting Tim Oren's GEM
series so I will post a few parts.  I'll post a few articles every week
if I can tell people are actually reading the series(ie. send mail!!) . No use
wasting Net space...   So here are parts 1-4, the programs referenced from
time to time will be posted all at once in arc'ed form midway through the
series.  I hope this isn't too inconveniencing but I am rather short on
time!
