Perhaps this is a futile pipe dream, but it never hurts to ask.

Does anyone know of a 3270-type of communications program for DOS
that will monitor an IRMA or Forte board for incoming files from a
mainframe, and then spool them to be printed on the PC's printer?
The trick is that it needs to do this in the background while the
user is running his favorite word processor, spreadsheet, or other
application program in the foreground.
