I don't know how easily the newer type RAM-FONT and color herc cards can be integrated with the 6300, however. The "classic" style herc card dosen't have a BIOS ROM for graphics calls, thus there is nothing to interfere with the built-in video ROM BIOS that is already on the 6300 motherboard. The net result is that all text will defualt to the 6300's original monitor, while graphics are done on the herc display. This is very nice for LOTUS 1-2-3. I have used both real and clones of the herc card. Picking a monitor is pretty much a matter of personal taste. Just about any IBM MDA-compatible monitor will do the job nicely. The rule of "you get what you pay for" applies. I've had problems with el-cheepo under $100 monitors not holding up well under heavy use. Note that you **don't** need to have the version 1.43 firware to use a herc card; any version will do. Bill Mayhew wtm@neoucom.UUCP
