A few weeks ago PC Week had a pre-announcement of the AST Premium 386.
Not a lot of details, but there will be such a beast.

Also, less than the previously mentioned few weeks ago, PC Week had
a different article pre-announcing an add-on 386 card for the existing
Premium 286.  It's supposed to be "better" than the Inboard/386 card
because it will utilize the special AST "fast-slot."

The AST line has been noted in various industry rags as a clone of
superior speed and quality.   Let's hope they keep up the good work ...
