Message-ID: <482@vax1.UUCP> Date: Tue, 29-Sep-87 19:53:04 EDT Article-I.D.: vax1.482 Posted: Tue Sep 29 19:53:04 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 2-Oct-87 00:43:39 EDT Lines: 19 Keywords: cheap, fast 386 machine I've gotten pricing info an various 386 machines from Eltech Research Inc. and would like any information people could give me about this company before I give them my money. The machines that they sell are put together from other's pieces, as many manufacturers do. They sell 5 different 386 machines (which they say they can ship in 2 days). The one that caught my eye was a 20mhz machine using static column RAM, and rates 25.9 on the Norton index (popular measure among PC'ers). In any case, this machine uses a 'baby 386 board', can take 2 meg on board and has 6-16 bit slots, 1-8 bit slot and a 32-bit slot for memory. Price, to dealers in single quantity is $2230 (comes with nothing but case and power supply). If anybody can tell me anything about this company or this machine, please reply. Thanks... Ted Inoue
