Summary: Software request

Does anyone out there have public domain source code , preferably in C, to send
a file over a Hayes compatible modem? Failing that, does anyone have source to
any routines that communicate over a modem at all? I am trying to make a modem
communications subroutine that is callable from a main routine which performs 
a variety of other tasks at user request.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
