USA Lines: 24 Summary: HELP [Pacman's revenge...] Okay. I finally couldn't take it anymore, and I went out and blew my wallet on a Mac II. Very nice machine. I don't understand all the hoopla about HyperCard, but I suppose that after I play with it a while I will see it's value. Let's here it for Apple with the color monitor deal. Here is the problem: I own an *old* Apple 1200 baud modem (not the plug into the wall 4" by 4" model - the sit under the phone model). I purchased a new copy of macterminal to work with the Mac II. The modem, cable, and software all work fine together on my old Mac Plus and the modem works fine when cabled to the Safari 4 in my office (it isn't really that gross - the Safari isn't mine). When running terminal emulation on the Mac II, I get the connect and it immediately drops carrier. This happens in MacTerminal and FreeTerm, and Red Ryder bombs after connect. My inclination is to believe that the serial driver is bad. Does anyone know what the problem is? Better still, is there a fix? Jon Shapiro AT&T attunix!shap (201) 522 uunm
