It connects to the modem serial port of my Mac. I've determined that there is something wrong with my modem serial port. I went to a friend's house; he has the exact same computer and interface. I replaced my Mac with his and the system doesn't work. What's really odd is that I've been using my serial port for my modem for a long time without any problems. If I connect my MIDI interface and bring up a terminal emulator and type something, my Yamaha FB-01 Tone Generator says "MIDI Error", which means something is getting through. I suspect that the power pin on my serial port is bad. My modem does not use a pin for power, but I think the passport midi interface uses power to run the MIDI clock circuit. Any ideas?
