I wish to take images prepared with the Scanning Gallery and include them into \TeX documents. At the moment Scanning Gallery is incomplete (ie missing most of the capabilities promised), so I don't know what will finally be available. What I am trying to do is convert a tag image file into a file of HP LaserJet (?) escape sequences. I have received from Microsoft a technical memorandum about what TIFF is all about, but no ideas on what I'm supposed to do with the information in the file. I'm about to tackle HP's response centre about some ``undefined'' tags used by Scanning Gallery and at the same time try to get some information on decoding TIFF files from them but I don't hold out much hope. That is why I am (yet again!) calling to the NET for help. Has anyone worked with TIFF, or better yet got a program that decodes the image encoded into some format or other. Alternatively, Scanning Gallery will (it says) print what it scans in onto an HP LaserJet. It of course only prints to devices, so if anyone has a device driver that will save what it receives into a file and are willing to give me a copy, I would be most grateful. vic -- Victor Gavin Zengrange Limited vic@zen.co.uk Greenfield Road ..!mcvax!ukc!zen.co.uk!vic Leeds, LS9 8DB +44 532 489048 England
