My office is in the market for a 300dpi scanner for use primarily 
on our Macintoshes (+s and IIs).  Some features we are especially 
interested in are flatbed platens for scanning bound documents,
optical character recognition, and a wide range of image formats.

I am aware of the following scanners available for the Mac:

	LoDOWN 
	MicroTek MS-300A 
	DEST PC Scan Plus
	Abaton Scan 300 and flat bed scanners
	Spectrum Digital System Spectrum LS-300
	AST Research TurboScan 
	Datacopy Model 730 Flatbed scanner

Are there any others I should consider?  Does anyone have any experience
with or opinions on any of these (or others)?  At the moment I'm leaning 
toward the Datacopy Model 730 flatbed scanner because it has all the
features I mentioned above.  I also like Spectrum Digital Systems 
Trueform software because it can take scanned forms and automate the 
process of filling them out. 

We might also consider stepping up to a scanner that works with our Sun
3/50 or Apollo 3000 workstations, but I have no idea what's available in
this area.  We'd be using document processors such as Framemaker and
Interleaf --I'm not sure what image formats they can import.  Even if 
we decide to stick with a Mac scanner, we would still like to be able 
to save files in a format Framemaker or Interleaf can understand.
