As an BSD User I'm unfamiliar with SysV.
Helping somebody with installing a new SysV Release of At&T on a 386 machine
i got confused every 20 seconds with the message:

init: "getty -l ..." respawning too rapidly

no chance to get a login to a tty.
what does the "234" entry in "/etc/inittab" mean ?
thanks for any suggestions
