I believe that Adobe has placed PostScript in the public domain and just
charges for its implementation.  Adobe's fonts, on the other hand, are
not public domain, and Adobe can expect to hold onto a significant
portion of the market because Adobe's fonts are standard and nobody
else's are likely to become so.
