Are there any devices that can read closed-captioned text and output ASCII? I didn't think this was easy, but I recently read the following in "The Media Lab, Inventing the Future at MIT", by Stewart Brand: "The Lab already has a working program called NewsPrint that every night prints out the closed-captioned text of the 'ABC Evening News' along with images it's taken off the air for illustration." Any information or pointers to information about this will be appreciated. Don Jackson dcj@sun.com
