If it ever comes to a vote, I'd prefer that we stay in our sub-ghetto, whether it makes sense or not. At least with alt.cyberpunk, I don't have to wade through a half-dozen ST: TNG reviews to find an article of interest. >I've heard that some company or other has purchased the rights to Neuromancer >and has already begun building sets and such. >Anyone have information on this? It's true, but don't expect to see NEUROMANCER: THE MOVIE anytime soon. The people who bought it are apparently a couple of Hollywood entrepreneurs who have never produced a movie before, and from last report, were still trying to raise money for production. According to Gibson, one weird thing about it was that the people bought the rights to *Neuromancer* outright, rather than buying a renewable option on the rights as is usually done. Gibson has also seen at least a first draft of the proposed movie script, and in conversation at "A Change of Hobbit" pronounced it "horrible."
