Remember Eric Mading, scorched by all sorts of people here
and in other groups for one or more postings to soc.motss,
soc.women, and talk.religion.misc (and, I gather, alt.drugs)?

I rose to the challenge of his leaving his address and phone
as a riddle, by calling university information and asking (it's
public information, you see).

Well, I got various mail for that one, to wit: 25 hurrahs
and two puling complaints.  We will now take these complainers
to proper task, because they seem not to know much about
anything whereof they speak.

Ready?  FLAME ON!

I got this idiocy from some self-sanctimonious nitwit:

Apparently you would have been less displeased had I posted the nit's
*fake* data.  I have to wonder why your locals are harrassing you; maybe
they know better than you what obnoxious really is.  Surely you're not
an entirely innocent victim?  Then you have the generosity to wish irate
mail upon me.  You wouldn't know heinous from your heinie if it hit you
in the face, which given the contortions in your kind letter is a real
possibility.

Couth enough for you, dearie?

Isn't that too rich?  *So* offended, so righteous.  So stupid!

Incidentally, most of my other (obviously clever and wonderful)
correspondents said they called or wrote to said Eric to express
their amazement over his various contributions.  You have to hand
it to him in one way: he got a rise out of a lot of people.  I
think he should run for public office, high office perhaps, in
the hope of raising the general level of governmental mental
prowess.  He's clearly leadership material.
